Nagios Distributed Setup After ModGearman
Nagios Distributed Setup After ModGearman
Currently we are using Mod-gearman and active NCPA and looking to upgrade and move away from mod-gearman. Looking for suggestions for a new framework. Finally I saw mention of 'native-workers' but nothing in a few years is there a plan to include them in future releases?
Re: Nagios Distributed Setup After ModGearman
Is this the best place to ask this type of question? If so, is my question too generic and requires more detail or is it something else? Im looking for high level ideas and possible resources to go read through. Finally is there an official Nagios XI container?

Re: Nagios Distributed Setup After ModGearman
Hi @Wlaforge, thanks for reaching out.
If you're looking to move off of Mod-Gearman, I think our recommended approach is to move as many checks as possible into a passive setup. Some customers have had some success manually implementing a multi-instanced Nagios XI (i.e. several Core servers sending data to one NDO database with XI), but in my experience the management load is higher than Mod-Gearman.
I believe this is our current article for distributed monitoring setup.
Native workers were a planned feature for Nagios Core some time ago, but it's not on the schedule currently. We don't have an official container distribution at this time.
