Post by ab18 »

Hi
our current production nagiosxi server is running on 5.6.7 and the licensekey is valid until next year . We have plan to upgrade nagios xi 5.6.7 to 5.11.3 . Based on supported document( https://support.nagios.com/kb/article/n ... s-145.html) nagiosxi license can be support one license key used for production , dev and backup install.

Procedure :
We have provisioned and cloned the server as similar production environment(xxxx-prod.xxx.com) and set up as dev environment (xxxx-dev.xxx.com) and plan to use it for upgrade nagiosxi version from 5.6.7 to 5.11.3.
Isssue:
We are facing an issue with Dev server(xxxx-dev.xx.com) is not up and running due to license issue. What are the dependencies and procedures we need to follow. Could you please share us more details how to proceed.

our requirements is use dev environment with same license key to upgrade version from 5.6.7 to 5.11.3 before touch the production environment.

Hi @ab18, thanks for reaching out.

I checked with our support team and you should be able to activate both a Test and Backup instance, according to your activation history. That being the case, please open a case on Answer Hub, so we can help you get this straightened out.
Please let us know if you have any other questions or concerns.
