Monitor my windows OS with nagios xi

Post by Everecten1 »

Hello, I want to monitor my windows OS with nagios xi, I followed the tutorial and did all the steps but after putting the ip address of my machine, and clicking next it showed "The gateway did not receive a timely response from the upstream server or application".
Please could anyone help and tell me what the problem is?
Thanks in advance.

Hi @Everecten1,

Here are a few things I would double-check (based mainly on these instructions):
- Make sure the IP address, port, and token are all correct
- Make sure the firewall is correctly configured (make an inbound rule on port 5693 - or a port you chose if you changed it; there are instructions for doing so in the guide above)
- Make sure NCPA is running on the windows machine (go to Services -> verify NCPA listener and NCPA passive are running)
- Verify that all of the above is working correctly by going to https://<windows_machine_ip_address>:5693. It should bring you to a web GUI for NCPA and you can log on with your token. If you can't then at least one of the above is not configured properly.
Let us know what you find out and if you need anything else!

Thank you!
