Configuration failed to write to file

Attempting to setup monitoring using the Monitoring Wizard for the first time. Getting error below. Version of Nagios is XI2011R3.2 Im just learning this product and by no means a Linux guru. Ive tried to search for something specific that could point me in a direction but keep coming up empty. Any help would be appreciated.

Configuration Error
An error occurred while attempting to apply your configuration to the monitoring engine. Contact your Nagios administrator if this problem persists.
