Hi,
I'm trying to configure some alerts for hosts & services that are currently being monitored. What I've found is that Nagios is able to email the address listed under general account settings, when the box "myself" under "Send alert notifications to..." is ticked, but specific contact groups, or individual contacts don't ever receive an email.
Checking /var/log/maillog I see "Connection Refused" messages, and was going to write it off as a quirk of our network configuration, except that some email obviously works because test emails to the "myself" email address come through, and changing that address to that of a contact or contact group will email that address as well. It just seems that emailing as a notification of an event (host or service) doesn't work.
Please let me know what if any config files you'd like to see.
p.s. Does anyone know how I get access to http://support.nagios.com/forum/viewforum.php?f=16 ?

Could you send a little more information about the error you are seeing in /var/log/messages
