How can I configure multiple notification options in a single check?

Hello,

I've been asked to send alerts to a different/second email address when a check enters a critical state. I tried to accomplish this by setting up a second service template, but it looks like the service template listed first takes priority.

For example,
If I have our standard template listed first, followed by the new critical template, I get the following:
notification_options r,w,u,c
If I switch them, putting new critical template first, the notification options change:
notification_options c

I'd like to find a way to utilize both notification paths (in a single check).

I'm sure there's a way to do this (hopefully easily). Any assistance is greatly appreciated.

Hey @shoreypu

I believe you can do this with creating a new contact to send the critical notifications to. While creating the new contact make sure to set up the alert settings to be selected for critical only. Then you'll need to add that contact to the services you want this for. Make sure to keep the notification options in your template to get all of the checks but if you no longer want to receive critical notifications to the normal email you may need to modify the notification options there as well to not include critical. Let us know if this is what you are looking for/if it fixes your issue.

It appears that the first listed template takes precedence. To resolve this, you might need to configure the templates to combine their notification options rather than override them. retro bowl
