Bulk Modifications Tool Blank

Post by wneville »

Wondering if anyone has had an issue with Bulk Modifications Tool. I am trying to use "Change a Single Config Option" --> notifications enabled: off.

I am selecting services using a service group, which contains 63 services. When I click "Save Changes" the screen goes white and the changes never take effect. (the core config manager panel on the left of the UI and the banner on the top of the UI are there, the inside goes blank white)

I am running Nagios 2024R1.1.2 and have the latest version of Bulk Modifications Tool installed

Hi @wneville, thanks for reaching out!

I haven't heard of anyone with this exact situation, but I do know that we have several patches for several other bugs in the Bulk Modifications tool which were released in 2024R1.1.3.

Are you able to attempt an upgrade to Nagios XI 2024R1.1.3 or higher? If you find that the screen is still white afterward, I'd like to see a copy of your PHP error log (/var/log/php-fpm/www-error.log on RPM Linux, or /var/log/apache2/error.log on Ubuntu) - this is probably something we'd need to fix in code.

Thanks Sebastian,

We can probably chalk this up as a version issue/aberration, I was able to get it to function by reducing the amount of hosts/services in a single run. I haven't used the feature since but I have upgraded NagiosXI and can let you know if I have any issues in the future

Thanks again!!

RESOLVED: Bulk Modifications Tool Blank

Post by cnorell »

wneville,

Happy to hear you got this sorted out. I'll make a note to see if we can diagnose potential limitations on the bulk modifications tool internally. I'm going to lock the thread and mark it resolved. Please don't hesitate to open a new thread should a new issue arise.

Best Regards,

Cory Norell
