I have noticed an odd thing in nagios.
==========================================================
scenario 1
==========================================================
I create X group A in CCM.
I then use a XI wizard to create an object.
during the setup, I am prompted to choose the X grroup(s) my object will be associated with.
i go into CCM and look at the objects settings. all of the x groups I selected are highlighted in grey.
but if I look at the actual X group itself the object is not on its list.
==========================================================
scenario 2
==========================================================
I create Group x. I then open Group X, and manually select the objects that will reside in it.
now the reverse of scenario 1 crops up.
How can I get nagios to sync its "group data" so that if I add a device into X group manually, it shows up in X group when I open that group?

Re: nagios funtionality question
This is normal.
There are 2 different ways to add hosts to a group, either directly in the hostgroup OR in the host configuration. They will only be viewable in the location they were added.
Wizards add them to the host configuration.
In the 2012 release coming out soon we are rewriting the CCM and it will show this info a quite a bit better.

Re: nagios funtionality question

Re: nagios funtionality question
The newest Beta is actually available from this link.
http://assets.nagios.com/downloads/exch ... cm/ccm.zip
It installs as a component through the Admin -> Add Components
