I've been closely monitoring performance our our network over the last week. What I have noticed is a network "spike" in rta values once every 24 hours. The rta value tends to jump to around 8000ms before returning to normal. The spike seems to happen across every monitored host (inc. Nagios XI itself) and doesn't appear to be at the same time every day. I was thinking it may be a resource issue on the Nagios XI server itself that may be causing this. However with 8 x vCPU and 12Gb ram allocated to monitor 60 hosts and 670 services I would have though this to be enough.
Does anyone have any ideas?
TIA.

Re: Network Traffic Spikes
Check the logs on the Nagios XI server and other network devices for any errors or warnings that occur around the time of the spikes.

Just a guess but I'd look at the network equipment data. Maybe each switch port flow even if its a pain.
