sudden "port 12489: Connection refused"

Post by JohnFLi »

I have a few Windows machines that have been working great for years. lastnight they did a normal monthly reboot. Now, nagios reports:

Code: Select all

"port 12489: Connection refused
or
(No output on stdout) stderr: connect to address <ip address here> port 5666: Connection refused
I restarted the client service, restarted the machine....no change.
Windows firewall is off via GPO.

any thoughts on what else it might be?

OK, this is strange....

somehow the NSClient.ini got cleared out on those 2 machines. copied from another machine that has all teh same configs, pasted in place, restarted teh service...and all is good again.
