Official nagiosxi monitor Dell server (iDRAC)

Hi,

Dell OpenManage is being "EOL", they recommend iSM.

We use "check_openmanage" that connects to the host and then runs omreport commands (https://github.com/trondham/check_openmanage).

We are looking for an alternative, we saw https://www.dell.com/support/kbdoc/en-u ... -nagios-xi but it is "eol" also..

What does Nagios.com recommend to monitor a Dell server ? Is there an official plugin that maybe connects to the host and will use iSM instead of openmanage? Or maybe something that will connect to the iDRAC directly?

Hi @saber,

We don't have anything right now that we produce that works with OpenManage. You're not the first person to notice that the Dell plugin has gone EOL.

A quick search of the Nagios Exchange shows a few community contributed options that you my want to look at:

As I'm sure you will also not be the last person to request this, I'll open up a feature request to see if we can do anything about it. Obviously, we can't commit to doing anything or promise a date, but we'll have a note of it in our systems. Keep an eye on change logs for future updates.
