Health Summary dashlets

Post by cbeattie-unitrends »

Hello,

It looks like the Problems/Unhandled column numbers are added together and stacked vertically on the graph in the Service Health Summary dashlet (I assume the code in the Host Health Summary might do the same thing). But if I understand them correctly, then Unhandled should be overlaid on top of Problems instead because "unhandled" is just a type of problem.

For example, if I have 100 problems and haven't handled any of them, I should have a column that's entirely red. But the column height is always the size of all problems and unhandled problems added together. So unhandled problems are getting counted twice.

Hello @cbeattie-unitrends,

Thank you for reaching out!

You are correct in your analysis of the Host/Service Health graphs.

Having quick and easy to understand visualizations regarding your fused infrastructure is one of the most important functions of Fusion and this is indeed something I am working towards improving upon.

While I cannot provide a specific timeframe for when said improvements may be implemented, I would keep an eye on the Fusion Changelog.

I greatly appreciate any feedback on ways we can improve Fusion, so feel free to continue reaching out with any questions, comments, or concerns you may have!

Thanks for sharing! It seems like a visualization issue—overlaying unhandled problems on top of problems might provide a clearer representation.

You're right — unhandled problems are a subset of all problems, so stacking both adds them twice. Instead, unhandled should overlay problems to avoid double-counting and show accurate totals.
