I've seen a handful of posts about this over the years:

We initially deployed via the OVA for VMware, which was convenient, but that underlying OS is now out of support and we need to update it and are looking at the migration process. We could deploy a new OVA, but we are leaning away from this as this image is very different from the other Linux distributions in our organization (we are primarily Ubuntu). So, we are looking at doing a manual install onto Ubuntu.
Has there been any recent consideration to having an official Nagios XI docker image available that could then be used on whatever host OS the customer prefers? It helps create a boundary between the requirements of the application and that of the organization (referencing the notice that appears when running the manual installation script):
IMPORTANT: This script should only be used on a 'clean' install of CentOS, RHEL, Ubuntu LTS, Debian, or Oracle. Do NOT use this on a system that has been tasked with other purposes or has an existing install of Nagios Core. To create such a clean install you should have selected only the base package in the OS installer.

Hi @aclauss,
Thanks for your note.
Certainly a containerized deployment scheme for XI would be a benefit. Some applications containerize simply, others do not. XI is in the group of applications that do not containerize simply. We've worked on it, and I won't say it can't happen, but realistically it's not likely to happen in the very near future.
