Issue with Adding Service Escalation
When I try to add a Service Escalation, the "services" field is marked as required, but I'm unsure what is supposed to be entered there. When I click the button to add a service, the dropdown or input box is completely empty, and there are no options available. Since this field is mandatory, I’m unable to create the Service Escalation. Is there a step I’m missing or something else I need to do to populate this field?
Re: Issue with Adding Service Escalation
Hi Emily,
Is this a new Nagios XI installation? Can you advise what version you're using? When you click "Manage Services" you should see a list of all available services that exist in your CCM, which you can click on to select and add to the Service Escalation. Even with no new hosts/services added on a brand new Nagios XI installation, you should have services running by default that are monitoring localhost, so it's odd those don't show up. I would recommend going to Config file Management (Core Config Manager > Tools > Config File Management, or use the search feature) and performing the following steps:
1. Click "Delete Files"
2. Click "Write Configs"
3. Click "Verify Files"
If you see any errors in this process, please post them in this thread. Otherwise after these steps try adding a Service Escalation again and see if the Services list is populated. Let us know if it still isn't, or if you have any other questions.
