In XI, I go to ADMIN/EMAIL Settings
OUtbound is set to 'SendMail' as I can't get any of the other options to work, no matter what port number i use.
anyway, I click on "Send a Test Email", then on "Send Test Email"
The address sending to is correct.
The test message Does arrive....10 min later.
I have tested this 3 times, all 3 times, it's about 10 min.
Bit more info, and testing
this nagios machine is CentOS 9 running nagios 2024R1.1.5
Original Nagios machine was Cento7 running Nagios 2024R1.1.5
Made a new server with new OS basically. Backed up Nagios from old machine, restored to new machine.....
Took a bit, but got all checks working, now Notifications is the last.
The new machine has the same IP as the original Nagios machine (it's off the network)
When I put the new machine back on the network, doing a test email is less than 1 min. delay.
take old off thy network, put new back on....10 min delay
any thoughts?
Emails from Nagios delayed
Emails from Nagios delayed
Everybody is somebody else’s weirdo
Re: Emails from Nagios delayed
Hi @JohnFLi,
Thanks for reaching out.
This may not be related, but in the XI email settings, did you change the "from" address to a "real" email address (not root@localhost)?
Is there anything in the XI and sendmail log files?
This document may be helpful Understanding-Email-Sending-In-Nagios-XI.
