Would like some help investigating this issue.
Running Nagios XI 5.8.6 . but under "system status" i'm showing "monitoring engine" and "performance grapher" down.
Alerts are coming in , so a little confused.
See screen show.

Re: Monitoring Engine
Looks like a mismatch in config file names done by someone else
[nagios services]$ pwd
/usr/local/nagios/etc/services
[nagios services]$ ls -al | grep -i PD05
-rw-rw-r-- 1 nagios nagios 5573 Feb 3 15:43 eqx1vwpd05 - WMS DB.cfg
can someone help me find where in nagios it is looking for databases.cfg like in snapshot?

Re: Monitoring Engine
In the future, the OP may not want to use whitespace in host, service, in fact any names. Bad practice. Anything that may eventually devolve to a filename should not use whitestpace.
I'd ask if there are service groups defined. They are a bit brittle.

Re: Monitoring Engine
Have removed the host and config, and redid db fix,
but apply config still fails with error below
"Error: Could not find any host matching 'EQX1VWPD05 - WMS Database Server' (config file '/usr/local/nagios/etc/services/EQX1VWPD05 - WMS Database Server.cfg', starting on line 127)"
not sure what else to try.

Re: Monitoring Engine
Seeing this error also
Configuration not applied. There are changes to the database configuration, apply configuration needed.
does this mean something the in db itself changed somehow? how can I check?

Re: Monitoring Engine
Any update? we need to escalate this as our nagios is not stable.
