Dashlets on Home Page Broken since 2024R1.4.1

Post by McTylan »

I upgraded to 2024R1.4.1 from 2024R1.3.4 and all the dashlets on my Home Page are broken. I can't resize them. And what I mean by I can't resize them, I am able to move them to a different size, they just snap back to the original size and it won't stick. If I take the Host Summary and Service Status in a diagonal direction it sticks, but I want to move it horizontally not diagonal and that snaps back. The graph just goes right back to what it was and when I do move it in any direction it only shows the title of the graph and no graph. Before I deleted them, they all had graph data inside and it was super squished without the ability to resize.

I tried deleting them all and recreating, but no dice. I tried through Edge and Firefox and it is the same. They were working just fine in 2024R1.3.4.

Here's an example. The small box is an example of one of the performance graphs I added to the dashlet. I had about 10 performance graphs before deleting them all and every one of them looked like this. Any ideas? Thanks!

Hi Bob,

Thanks for that report. We worked on dashlets quite a bit in an effort to get them to scale in a way we liked better. We did have some unintended consequences there, unfortunately.

We'll have another update for dashlets here soon to address the issues.

Sure thing!

Also, talking to the team, try dragging from the bottom right corner to resize. One of the things we were working on was keeping the aspect ratio (height : width) of the dashlet, so in our initial implementation of that, if you just pull right, it will snap back, and if you just pull down, it will snap back. We're taking another look at that as well, but let me know if grabbing the corner helps out.

Yep, on 2024R1.3.4, I updated as well and all our daslets went away, I rolled back.

We will be on 2024R1.3.4 till the next upgrade...

Yes, the corner pull works, but I don't want my performance graphs to preserve aspect ratio. I bring them rectangle so I can see the graph to my liking. For instance, this is one of my graphs... Preserving aspect ratio ruins it completely - makes all my graphs unreadable and useless to how I want to design my dashboard.

Thanks for that specific feedback, I definitely super appreciate it.

We're reverting the "respect aspect ratio" on performance graphs specifically. We've got a few things to sort out, hoping to have a new release next week.

Unfortunately we do not have a time frame for the new release yet. We generally don't like to give exact dates as things change all the time or unseen issues sometimes appear but it is being worked on still and we are trying to get it somewhere that everyone is happy.
