Notification period required when creating service even when set through host template

Post by jwelt86 »

We set our notification period on the host through a host template. We set other notification settings (check interval, retry interval, max attempts, check period, notification interval, options) on the service through a service template.

Before our recent upgrade to 2024R1.4.4 we were on 2024R1.1.1. Before the upgrade we were able to create services without needing to set a notification period directly on the service. This resulted in the notification period being inherited from the host.
Now on 2024R1.4.4 we must have a notification period set on the service directly. Settings this on a service template seems to work as well. If we do not have anything set we receive the error "MISSING REQUIRED FIELD: "Notification period" IN: "Alert Settings""

We also assign services to hosts using service templates. A service template links to a host group which contains our servers. Now we cannot save a service without directly assigning a host to the service. This error is "Must select at least one host for a service definition! Select a host under "Common Settings"->"Manage Hosts"."

I can confirm this bug according service management, we cannot modify the service if there are no hosts assigned, although a host group with several hosts is assigned there.
