I'm wondering if anyone has successfully upgraded from NRPE 3.2.0 to 4.1.3 on the Nagios server itself. I have upgraded all the agents without issue but need to now upgrade the Nagios server. When I tried following the same procedures, the upgrade appeared to be successful, however the server could no longer communicate with any of the agents. The error received was Return code of 127 received for.... This was on every agent, every service check. Since all the service checks were still there, this message made no sense. We exceeded our maintenance window for the production systems so had to back out the change. Before I attempt again, I'd like to hear from others. Maybe there are steps I missed?
I'm running on RHEL 8 and Nagios XI 2024R1.1.4

I wonder if when you upgrade NRPE on Nagios server, you need to edit th plugin path in command definitions?KarenJ wrote: ↑Thu Jul 03, 2025 10:12 am I'm wondering if anyone has successfully upgraded from NRPE 3.2.0 to 4.1.3 on the Nagios server itself.
