Advanced filter on hosts/services status

Post by speynaud »

Hi all,
I wanted to know if it's possible to use an "advanced search" when we are in "hosts status" or "services status" to use several criteria and merge hosts, services, services groups, hosts groups etc. to isolate specific datas?
I found only "search" on each tab ...
Before Nagios XI, we used Eyes of Network where we could create complex filter with arythmetic function (and, or etc.) to merger all datas, but it seems Nagios dosen't include that.
If someone found something to add this function please tell me.
Thank you by advance.

Hi @speynaud,

Thanks for reaching out. I'm not familiar with Eyes Of Network and we are always looking for ways to improve our products. Can you give me some examples of the complex filtering you found useful?
Please let us know if you have any other questions or concerns.

From my understanding Eyes Of Network used "Thruk" to display and manage host and service information.

With that we can do arithmetic equation to combine host, hostgroup, service, services group etc.

for exemple, if we need to see service "try" for only members of hostgroup "computer", we can with interface :
hostgroup = computer AND service try ==> we have only a tab with all computer with the service try and now we can select all and reschecule, stop, disable etc.

DOES IT POSSIBLE TO INCLUDE "THRUK" in Nagios XI as you include Nagvis?
You do not have the required permissions to view the files attached to this post.

Hi @speynaud,

I believe you can use Thruk with XI, through LiveStatus.
Please let us know if you have any other questions or concerns.
