HELP needed for DMZ server monitroing

Post by DileepKumar »

Hi All,

Thanks in advance.

I'm currently using Nagios core and looking to upgrade for Nagios XI. However, we have decided to first onboard all the servers into monitoring before upgrading.

As of now, I'm able to monitor windows, linux, ubuntu, MSSQL, Oracle etc but the issue is now with DMZ servers, We have installed the agent NCPA and enabled NRDP for passive checks in remote DMZ servers but unable to receive the data and even the host status is showing down

Do i know to enable any ports on DMZ servers?
How should I setup the communication between Nagios Server and DMZ server?

Please note that our DMZ servers consists of both linux and Windows

Thanks

What ports are open from th internal network to the dmz hosts? Assuming the dmz hosts have a firewall, you'll need to decide which ports to open to the internal network and then set up the FW accordingly.
You probably need to talk to the network or dmz admins for specific info.
