Hi Nagios Community,
I've been trying to test out the Master - Slave aspect to remove some load from Nagios XI.
I wasn't sure which server to post this in, sorry if it's the wrong one (I'll repost in Nagios Core if required).
I was wondering if I've installed the wrong Nagios Core (3.4.1) because there doesn't seem to be a way to add services/hosts/commands via the web interface.
Is there something wrong with my installation or is this not available like it is on Nagios XI?
Mainly, with regards to the master - slave configuration, what is the recommended way of sending data between them? NSCA is the best to use? Or situation dependant?
Thank you.
Kind Regards,
Gary Shergill

You are correct in assuming that only XI allows you to add Hosts/Services/Commands through the Web interface, this was never a feature of core which is one of the reasons to upgrade to Nagios XI.
As far as sending data between the Master - Slave setup we have two documents that can help you out:
