Hey,
Is anyone else having issues with alerting and queries in 2026R1.2? I'm moving from an older 2024R1.x.
I would normally build up a dashboard query with the data I want to alert on and then go to alerts and load the query into the new alert when I'm creating it. In 2026R1.2 I'm not entirely sure if I should be using the "filters" over on the left or the main query "*" and building up from there? In trying the "filters" with little success I've gone with the main query but having a few inconsistency issues with the UI.
1. Issues with Manage Dashboard Queries
- "Run" does not always display the query itself in the top bar (the data is correct) but does appear on the legend in the chart. If I "Run" the top query in the list first it displays it in the top bar and then I can "Run" the queries further down the list and it displays the full query in the top bar.
- "Overwrite" looks like it successfully overwrites the query with a green toast but does not save the update. To "overwrite" I have to save it with the same name using the "Create" button.
2. Issues with Alerting using Dashboard Queries.
- To reliably create a Query based Alert I have to do it from the Dashboard itself with the little "Create Alert" button after loading the dashboard query.
- If I try to create the Alert on the alert page itself it inconsistently loads my saved dashboard query, sometimes it works OK and others it just won't load it when I push the button. Or it won't load some queries but will load others even though they all work OK on the dashboard itself.
Curious if others have found a cleaner workflow or if these are known bugs?
