MySQL 8.0 is EOL

Post by ect-se-udv »

We are currently running Nagios XI 2024R1.4.4 on RHEL8.10 with MySQL 8.0.
Nagios XI will soon be upgraded to the lateset version.
MySQL 8.0 is EOL as of April 2026
In RHEL8 MySQL 8.0 is the default module stream but there is also a 8.4 module stream.
My questions:
- Is MySQl 8.4 supported for Nagios XI?
- Is there a procedure from Nagios to update MySQL 8.0 to 8.4 ?
- If there is no procedure, can we just activate the MySQL 8.4 module stream and update to the MySQL 8.4 software without further configuration for MySQL or Nagios?

TIA, Martin Peters

RHEL 10 has mysql 8.4 so you can expect it's fine with Nagios.
