Monitoring remote windows server

Post by MSPk »

hi,

We are trying to monitor windows servers located behind the firewall using nagios. Can we monitor these servers normally using the NSClient++(check_nt) or do we need to configure passive checks for these servers?

If we need to configure passive checks, please direct me to a guide detailing the process of enabling the passive checks on the server and installing agent on the remote server.

what are the options do we need to check while installing the NSClient++ on the remote server? for active checks we check the options "enable common check plugins" and "enable nsclient server (check_nt)"...do we need to check both these options in addition to "Enable NSCA client" or check only common check plugins and nsca server?

If you are planning on using both types of checks you should check all the check-boxes during installation.
