so my question is it possible to upgrade from 2.5 to 3.4.1 we have about 100 hosts and 124 service's being monitored on are current systems i have two systems checking the same systems from two different buildings.

Upgrade from 2.5 to 3.4.1 Possible
Hi all im new to the form and to the new 3.4.1 Nagios years ago we installed nagios 2.5 at are school its been running great i now think its time to try and upgrade but im not sure if its possible to upgrade to the latest version i tried working with 3.4.1 on a test centos box i was able to get the ping working but need more work for the windows configs if i wont to monitor further items was receiving invalid password.

Nagios 3.x for the most part backwards compatible however there is a noticeable incompatibility with a few macro's:
$NOTIFICATIONNUMBERS$ was removed and in it's place resides $HOSTNOTIFICATIONNUMBER$ and $SERVICENOTIFICATIONNUMBER$.
Be sure to back up your previous Nagios installation just in case but you should be safe for the upgrade.
