Event Co relation

Post by HAL »

HI
I want to know do we have any option to configure Event co-relation in Nagios 2012. At present , If Link is down we are getting multiple alert such as router down with all its interface , Server with all its services etc.

Hi Hal,

What you are looking for is achievable by defining dependencies in nagios, or using parent and child relationships within Nagios. You can look into the dependency wizard or for advanced options login to CCM and look for the dependencies on the left hand nav menu.

Many Thanks

Hi
Can you explain more about Parent and child relationship ?
How it can be used for site and dependent servers?

Currently this isn't actually a wizard for dependencies, just the Core Config Manager->Host Dependencies and Service Dependencies. Here's an outline on the behavior of dependencies.
