monitor Sonicwall VPN tunnels

We are trying to find a way through Nagios to monitor if our Sonicwall VPN tunnels go down.

I found this on Nagios Exchange:

No matter what I seem to do it always says my tunnels are DOWN when I know they're not.

Any help with this? Or can someone PLEASE recommend another way of monitoring them.

We do not have the ability to test this one in house here, but we will try to help you non the less. Do you have any experience with SNMP? Have you enabled SNMP on the device you are receiving the traps from and opened the required ports?
