Merging NagiosXI servers
Merging NagiosXI servers
I would like to merge one of my stand alone Nagios XI 2012R1.1 with my DNX Nagios platform 2012R1.1. I have read and seen the posts for merging - importing configurations from Core. Can I import the configurations from my stand alone to the DNS Nagios server and have it add to the existing configuration?

Re: Merging NagiosXI servers
Are both of these machines XI 2012?
If so, you should be able to follow these procedures

Yes they are both NagiosXI. Thank you!
Re: Merging NagiosXI servers
When following the Config Import Prep Tool, it has you to upload your original source configuration files. The example shows your services.cfg and hosts.cfg as one file. My hosts and services are already in subdirectories host and service. So I'm not quite sure how to proceed. The instructions assume I'm migrating from Nagios Core but I'm actually migrating from NagiosXI to NagiosXI. Do I need to run the prep tool against all the config files in both hosts and services directories?
Thanks, Marcus

I figured it out. You can just leave the NagiosXI hosts and services directories as is and move them under the cfgprep/orig directory. Then just follow the instructions to import and update.
