Nagios XI freshly downloaded
Followed the manual installation steps. Not realizing it was going to expect no password on the mysql server a lot of stuff failed that should not have, including the population of the mysql database
I deleted the following directories
- /store
/root/scripts
/usr/local/nagios
/usr/local/nagiosxi
/var/www/html/*
I then re-ran thru the installation process and everything went much smoother. There are now contents the mysql db, /usr/local/nagios*, html dir, etc.
I am able to load up the UI and log in with the default nagiosadmin credentials and navigate around.
Certain actions such as enabling notifications are generating mysql error messages
Code: Select all
SQL: SQL Error [nagiosxi] : ERROR: duplicate key violates unique constraint "xi_usermeta_pkey" SQL: SQL Error [nagiosxi] : ERROR: duplicate key violates unique constraint "xi_usermeta_pkey" SQL: SQL Error [nagiosxi] : ERROR: duplicate key violates unique constraint "xi_usermeta_pkey" SQL: SQL Error [nagiosxi] : ERROR: duplicate key violates unique constraint "xi_usermeta_pkey" SQL: SQL Error [nagiosxi] : ERROR: duplicate key violates unique constraint "xi_usermeta_pkey" SQL: SQL Error [nagiosxi] : ERROR: duplicate key violates unique constraint "xi_usermeta_pkey" SQL: SQL Error [nagiosxi] : ERROR: duplicate key violates unique constraint "xi_usermeta_pkey" SQL: SQL Error [nagiosxi] : ERROR: duplicate key violates unique constraint "xi_usermeta_pkey"
Notifications was not actually enabled. However after trying again I am now no longer getting any mysql errors and it appears to be working. Notifications are enabled. I was able to change the email recipient and then send a test email successfully. Any reason to fear future issues of this nature?
