nagiosxi web interface no service and host found

I am using nagiosxi, i had previously added some hosts and services, they are being monitored, able to receive alerts and notifications - everything is fine. However today, on my web interface, I wasn't able to view any hosts or services. Everything is empty. No records were found. But im able to see if thru legacy ccm, my config files in my /usr/local/nagios/etc/hosts and services were still around, i tried adding a new host to monitor - also nothing appeared. Another problem was when i try to access the core config manger, it states Database not connected. I am lost, what could be the problem?

Is mysqld running?

If so you may have database corruption
