Is there a way in which to add all of the lets say "Yum update check" from all hosts to a service group in bulk so I do not have to go to every host and add the individual service to the service group?

You will have to add this service to a hostgroup. Then, it will apply to all of the members of this hostgroup. It will also apply automatically to all of the new members that you might be adding to this hostgroup in the future.
Note: If this service is defined on both, host level, and hostgroup level (by adding the service to the hostgroup), you will have duplicate definition issues, so you will have to remove the service from the host (other words, you should define it only on the hostgroup level).
