Alert Setting Notification Period

Post by CelticDan »

I do not get any alerts from my Nagios XI installation. I get my test alerts but nothing from my monitoring. I have attached an image of the alerting notification period. It says it is required but when I select 24X7 and select save, it doesnt save.

How do I get alerts to get sent? Not really useful if I cannot get alerts.

Any help would be much appreciated.

What version of XI are you running? Do you have contacts or contact groups specified in this service?

Thank you for your quick response:

Version is Nagios XI 2012R1.2 (I think that is what you requested).

Yes there is a contact group associated with the services/hosts.

I can select the group and all the settings but the alerting period doesn't save.

Thank you again.

Greetings,

Follow-up. When I try and run a test notification I get the attached error. Seems odd as well.

Thank you for your time.

For the user you are attempting to send the custom notification from, is it an admin or a regular user? If it is a user, have you made sure that it has permissions to control all Hosts and Services? You would definitely see an error if the user does not have this ability.
