Capacity Planning Module

Post by Gavin »

We're running the latest version of Nagios on CentOS 6. I thought we were having problems win the capacity planning module, so downloaded a copy, and then deleted it. However, it seems I'm not able to re-upload the component, instead I get the error:

Code: Select all

Component installation failed. Uploaded zip file is not a component.
This module isn't available to download online - is someone able to to provide me with the latest version via. PM please?

Many thanks,

Gavin

Hi Gavin,

This component can be re-attained by running the upgrade script out of a Nagios XI source download. This, along with a few other components are refreshed when this is done.

Is there a list of all the packages the upgrade script will overwrite? Will it delete anything?

Thanks,

Actually I found a quicker way for you to do this, though running the install would not blow away any current settings:

Copy the following folder out of the downloaded tarball:

Code: Select all

/nagiosxi/nagiosxi/basedir/html/includes/components/capacityplanning
to the corresponding installed directory:

Code: Select all

/usr/local/nagiosxi/html/includes/components/capacityplanning
Then run a config verification and restart Nagios xi.

Fantastic, thanks. We've now got the module reinstalled, but the 'problem' we had is still there. Namely, when we got to 'Extrapolation Options' it says 'Not Enough Data' and all the options are greyed out. There's about three days of available data on the service I'm trying to extrapolate. As I'm not sure how much data is required, this might not actually be a problem, but I've not been able to find any documentation on the Capacity Planning module.

Many thanks,

Gavin

I believe you will need a minimum of a week of 5 minute data
