In utilizing the scheduled downtime option built into XI, I've come to wish there were an easier way.
Here's an example that I'm working with:
We have 30 locations that will be going down over the coming weekends. THis comes out to be 1 to 2 locations per weekend over the next 19 weekends.
Each location has 5 hosts. On those 5 hosts, we have a total of 16 services.
As it is now, I have to manually type each host and service name in, tie the service to the host, set it as flexible, etc. etc.
This takes a great deal of time and seems to be a bit unrefined.
Perhaps the ability schedule downtime for a host group and all services attached to the hosts in said host group can be considered?
Something to eliminate the need to physically type in the services and hosts, all the while hoping that you aren't typing an error and that you aren't capitalizing or capatilizing a letter by mistake.
