Hi,
I'm new at Nagios and Linux. When installing it on CentOS, I encounter the error goes: could not retrieve mirrowlist http://mirrorlist.centos.org/xxxxxxxxxx ... xxxxxxxxxx
My installation is disconnected from WAN in lab environemnt, I would whether it is a must to install it with internet access so it it can download necessary component during installation? PS: I use CentOS minimal ISO for centOS installation. Is it a problem?
Thanks.

Re: New Nagios installation
Internet access is required to install or upgrade XI.

Thanks for your reply.
However, in my company lab, internet access is not permited. What about Nagios core, do i need internet access for installation? If the answer is no, I can then use it instead for test.

Are you running on VMWare? If you are using a minimal centOS and running on VMware, you may want to consider downloading our VMware appliance as that doesn't require Internet access.
Core should not but will require packages you will need to get to be able to compile core as well as plugins from source.
