Host Groups and Notifications

I configured a host group for each of our physical locations, then assigned all of our hosts through the "add hosts" button from within the hostgroup. Im trying to find a way to add this host group to a notification group or contact so they will show up in their host details when they login to XI. I know that If I add a host to a group from within the host details it works, so why wont this work the other way around?

You can add a monitoring contact or a contact group to a host but not to a hostgroup. The easiest way to add a contact group to a many of hosts in bulk is to use the Bulk Modifications Tool.

Core Config Manager->Tools->Bulk Modifications->Add a Contact Group
