NagiosXI 2012R1.6 (Scheduling Downtime Issue)

Post by devinacosta »

I noticed an issue with NagiosXI 2012R1.6 that if you schedule downtime by using the Service Group Grid -> View Servicegroup Commands -> Schedule downtime for all services in this servicegroup causes Nagios to duplicate an entry for every service two times.

You can add a servicegroup to a service by going to:

CCM->Services->...->Mange Servicesgroups->Add Selected

or you can add a service to a servicegroup by going to:

CCM->Service Groups->...->Manage Services->Add Selected

I believe that if certain relationships have been defined BOTH ways, when you schedule downtime the way you did, it would show duplicate entries.

Try breaking the relationships in one of these two places, and see if this is going to help.

Note: There may be a bug in the new CCM regarding this issue. If you try to add a host to a hostgroup, or a hostgroup to a host, if object relationships have been defined using "the other" method, you would see a "grayed out" entries, that you would not be able to select (or add). This doesn't work the same way for adding services to servicegroups and vice versa.
In the legacy CCM, this doesn't make any difference - you can do this either way.
