Hi,
I am very new to nagios. Please help me in finding out the status information for hard disk failure.
Like if a volume (E: of a hard disk) is mapped to a server and when unmapped the status information will be " Return Code 139 out of bounds".
If network latency then the status info will be "connection timeout" and "connection refused" when nsclient is not responding.
Simillarly i want to know the status information when a hard disk drive failure happens.
Because as of now i am monitoring only the volumes that are created in harddisk, using which i want to know the physical hard drive failure.
Thanks in advance.
Regards,

Re: Status Information for hard disk failure
Judging from the volume, this must be a windows server. There are no "built-in" smart health disk checks. There were a few older vbs scripts floating around the nsclient forums, as well as specific raid controller plugins on the exchange. Depending on how the disk fails, there might be some mention of the failure in the windows event log that could be checked for.
