Apply config error, no snapshot error to view

NagiosXI 2012R1.6 running from VMware OVF on CentOS 6.3. We migrated from CentOS 5.9 2012R1.6 to this new OVF with a backup/restore. Anytime I make a service change through the CCM of from the Configure tab, the config verification fails and there is no associated error snapshot (See attached screenshots). I have not tried to add a new host or service yet.

Can you run the following and output it's results in your reply?

Navigate to: Configuration > Core Config Manager > Tools > Write Config Tool > Click each of the three buttons from top to bottom, copy and paste the text output by each here.

Try increasing the php.ini memory limits and execution time:

EDIT: Remember to restart apache after the changes are made.

Changed php.ini settings per link, and still have the issue from the screenshot. When I click submit for the change, this part shows instantly "Configuration submitted for processing..." and about 1 second later the two errors appear. The page loads with the errors very quickly.

Open up a terminal to the XI box and run the following:

cat /var/log/messages | grep seg
We are looking for a segfault as that is a symptom of a possible problem. If you go to "home" --> "Process Info" in the XI interface, are all the "dots" green as well as the "system ok" dots/checks in the upper right hand corner?

Check for multiple nagios parent processes:

service nagios stop
ps -aef | grep nagios
killall nagios
service nagios start

No results for grep on "seg" in messages. All dots are green as well as the system ok dots at the top right. Pic attached of the "Process Info" screen.

You are correct. Your process list looks normal. Lets do a running tail on /var/log/httpd/error_log and try to "apply configuration" again:

Click "apply configuration" and then post the tail output.
