You mean creating contacts/contactgroups and assigning these in the advanced service? Wouldn't that be the same as with service templates??? A contactgroup is directly assigned to the advanced service, as the service template does.
Won't be better to configure services directly linked to each host? Even if this means creating 100000 services.

If you need to limit the check periods, this would have to be done on a service, servicegroup, or service template level. To limit notification periods, you could use contacts, contactgroups, contact templates, services, servicegroups, or service templates. My suggestion is to control notifications on the contact levels unless the notification periods are dependent on the specific service. In that case I would look at using service templates and service groups.
