Re: NetBackup latest backup status check by Policy name
I would take a look at the usage text on the exchange listing below the download link:
http://exchange.nagios.org/directory/Pl ... me/details
Here, the writer explains how to configure and integrate the plugin with NSClient++ and Nagios, as well as how to define a command to retrieve information from it, this is not something we can test here however, since we do not have the required software it pulls data from.

Re: NetBackup latest backup status check by Policy name
It does not look like you properly followed the directions as the way you are trying to pass "-a" values to the plugin is invalid, the page outlines in what format to call the plugin properly:
7. Add new Nagios "service" to check status of the backup job.
* The backup policy name that you want to check the latest policy status have to be set to $ARG1$ in the "service" setting. $ARG2$ is number of hours to go back, e.g., daily 24, weekly 168.

The command looks right, and you are getting an "ok" returned. What is the issue with it?

I checked the plugin source at it is not very verbose. You will have to set up a test mock failure to see if he plugin returns the expected exit code.
