problem on installing nagios plugin on RHEL-5.1

Hi!

I am trying to install Nagios Plugins , nagios-plugins-1.4.16 on RHEL-5.1

It has been hung at "checking for ps syntax..." i have tried it many times, but it always hangs there
I have tried
./configure but it hanged then
./configure --enable-redhat-pthread-workaround again it hanged.
every time it hanged please help me what I need to do .
