Re: Failed to install Nagios XI

Post by lmiltchev »

Shouldn't "fullinstall" automatically install perl-devel too?
Yes, and it is very strange that you can't even install it by running:

Code: Select all

yum install perl-devel -y
Can you run the following two commands and show the output?

Code: Select all

yum provides perl-devel
yum -v repolist

Code: Select all

root@ctv-cache-backup ~]# yum provides perl-devel
Excluding Packages in global exclude list
Finished
Warning: 3.0.x versions of yum would erroneously match against filenames.
You can use "*/perl-devel" and/or "*bin/perl-devel" to get that behaviour

Re: Failed to install Nagios XI

Post by sreinhardt »

This is not a supported OS. It seems to be a Cisco Enterprise Linux distro. While I am unfamiliar with this one in particular my guess is that it is based off a RHEL or CentOS system and is close enough to have passed our basic check of version. Chances are there will be many package issues based on naming differences or purely unavailable packages. Is it possible for you to install on a RHEL or CentOS system instead?

Thanks for letting me know. I will stop trying to get this installed and will see if I
can use an OVF instead.

Btw, it might be prudent to support cisco distribution, since a you would then cover a whole swath
of hosts deployed within cisco.

Thanks again,

Rk

Rk, are you trying to install an agent on the cisco/linux boxes, or XI?
