define new service for remote host

Post by lyle »

I want to define a new service for a remote host using the XI gui.

I go to Nagios Core Config Manager -> Service Management -> Add New
I enter a Config Name, a Service Description, choose "check_nrpe" for the Check Command, enter my one ARG.

But, I can not select a Host that I want it to run on, and can not select a Host Group (even *). Right or left clicking on any of the menu choices does not highlight.

My browser is Firefox 3.6.8 I'm running the 2009R1.3G demo of XI. Is it because I'm running the "demo" version?

And is there some place in the XI docs you can point me to where this is covered? I'm trying to get used to the gui :| , but either I'm not "intuitive" enough or haven't found the right place in the docs where things like this re covered.

Thanks....Lyle

To select the host or host groups click the little notepad icon, and it will bring up a new box where you can pick out your host/hostgroup.

This Host Management Doc gives a walkthrough for working with the CCM.
