NAGIOS XI Security Questions

Post by sujitt »

I am trying to us the MSQuery wizard to setup the wizard. I see that it asks for userid and password. Here the password seems like atleast not clear text.
but when I go to the change monitor preferences from the dashboard. I see that all the userid and password is clearly visible.

Nagios XI requirements
1. The screen for creating a wizard should be available for updates as well.
2. Modifying the monitor settings from dashboard should be restricted with a userid and password or passwords should be removed before presenting

Can you elaborate on this?

You need to be logged in as an administrator in order to modify the settings. Regular users cannot do this.

I am created some web transaction handling and web url monitoring. I know i made a mistake in the config and now when I want to re-configure it is a text line to modify it . more so in webinject it is an xml file and tehre is no UI to get to the file to edit.
I will have to ask an Unix admin to get to the file system to edit.

Your last post was quite confusing, are you saying, since you made a mistake you need to get your admin to allow you to edit the flat config file? That is not the case, you should do all your editing through the Configure > Core Config Manager section.
