Hey guys,
I have a problem with the exploerer.exe check. On some of my Servers it says that the explorer.exe is not running.
All servers use NSClient++ (some of them 32bit and other 64bit). All have the same config. I'm using the latest Nagios XI Version.
Hope that somebody could help me
explorer.exe: not running... i don't think so!
Re: explorer.exe: not running... i don't think so!
If there any kind of a pattern to the systems that are showing explorer to be down. Example, are they all 64 bit, or Windows7, etc? If you're receiving other data from NSClient, then the issue is a NSClient configuration issue with that particular check on that particular machine.
Re: explorer.exe: not running... i don't think so!
I know how to "solve" the problem.
If I am connectet to the server via RDP, Nagios can get the information, that exploerer.exe is running.
If I disconnect, nagios can't get the information that explorer.exe is running.
I get this problem with windows server 2003 R2 (32-bit) and 2008 R2. All of them are VMs on a XenServer 5.5

Perhaps this is the length of my absence from Windows talking, but why would Explorer be running when you're not logged in?
