Quick Search alias auto complete?

Have you tried the steps, outlined by scottwilkerson? Is auto-complete working as expected now?

It allows for look-up on an Alias, but the auto complete suggestions are translated to the associated host name. I'd like to see auto complete suggests as the actual alias name.

For example: Host THBYONA212NVLXVM6029 has an alias of DNS1

When searching for "DNS", I'd like to see an auto complete list display all hosts with "DNS*" in the alias field.

This sounds like it would being more completeness to the Quick Find search function, as it seems that it does indeed work for searching alias's but does not auto-complete.

2012R2.0 Added ability for Quick find auto-complete to include host alias field. I've confirmed this to be working, but not as expected.

It seems like searching by alias works ONLY if the "keyword" is not found in any of the services. Then, the hosts are shown instead...

I do not understand how this relates to my description in the previous post. Please elaborate?

Thank you for posting the feature request, though having this thread open will not expedite any possible development done on that request. Was the feature marked as closed in the system?

On a side note, it appears that your original post was marked with a check mark which hides it from our system, so we never saw your replies.

I have no idea about it's status, as you can see in http://support.nagios.com/forum/viewtop ... =10#p54220 we were still discussing correction to the function.
