For some reason, I have began receiving alerts twice. I have always gotten Nagios Monitor XI Alert's via email; last night I started receiving a duplicate/similar email alert that has labeled itself as Nagios XI Alert ***** TestService and includes URLs to "Respond" and go to my Nagios URL. I do not want to receive email alerts twice in this fashion; please help.
Thanks.

Re: Duplicate alerts
Would you be able to share a screenshot of this alert doubling up in the Notifications report? Try to find the exact time this was sent out in the following page:
Reports > Notifications.
Thanks! Please, also let us know what the contact's name was that received the doubled messages.

Re: Duplicate alerts
I don't have a fast/convenient place to host the image, but here is the text from the notification report. These are recovery alerts for 2 Hosts, going to 3 recipients (the first host only goes to one). I am now very confused as to how one of the users seems to not be effected.

Re: Duplicate alerts
what host and service notification commands do you have defined for the nagiosadmin under contact settings?
Nagios-Plugins maintainer exclusively, unless you have other C language bugs with open-source nagios projects, then I am happy to help! Please pm or use other communication to alert me to issues as I no longer track the forum.

Re: Duplicate alerts
For hosts I have notify-host-by-email and xi_host_notification_handler, for services I have notify-service-by-email and xi_service_notification_handler. I see for "user2" that is not receiving duplicate alerts (but is receiving them) does not have any notification commands set. Not sure how "user2" would be receiving the email notifications at all if none are defined?
Re: Duplicate alerts
I don't know about user2, but setting both notify-*-by-email and xi_*_notification_handler for a contact is not suggested. This will lead to multiple notifications. Our suggestion is to only use xi_*_notification_handler with XI user/contacts.

Re: Duplicate alerts
Thanks. I'm not sure how I started receiving the alerts from both notification commands; but am now only receiving one with just one notification command defined.

Re: Duplicate alerts
Great that should do it! Any other issues regarding this?
