I am most comfortable with hand-writing Nagios core config. While this is onerous for large networks,
I am walking towards a quick demo to effect a purchase this week.
Could you please tell me if I could manually move the GUI-generated configs to /static directory,
extend the config by hand (I need email notifications to be emitted when hosts/services go down),
restart Nagios XI and expect the system to reflect the configuration?
While I would prefer to use the GUI, I am not sure how to create multiple sites (which I know how to do
with Nagios core) and attach custom email notification commands to the hostgroups?
Pl help!

Re: Moving GUI-generated configs to /static
You could move them there, but I would suggest copying them, then removing the config's from the CCM so they will not double up, once they are removed run an apply config "verify they do not repopulate from the command line, or CCM." Then run though this document to verify the configuration file integrity:
